50KVA Dry Type Isolation Transformer with MCCB

This 50KVA Dry Type Isolation Transformer with MCCB runs at 415V on the input side and 220V on the output. It's a dry type unit, so no oil to worry about. We put molded case circuit breakers on both input and output, and the enclosure is stainless steel, rated IP23. That's pretty much the whole unit. GUANGBIAN manufactures it at our factory in China.

GUANGBIAN is a China-based factory that makes Dry Type Isolation Transformers, and customization is something we handle a lot. This particular 50KVA Dry Type Isolation Transformer with MCCB was built for a customer in Europe. What makes it different? They wanted molded case circuit breakers on both sides - input and output. Not every 50KVA Transformer comes that way, but as a manufacture, we build what the client asks for.

Why We Put the MCCBs Right Into the 50KVA Transformer Body

Everything comes down to making things easier for the customer. This 50KVA Transformer takes 415V three-phase on the input and puts out 220V three-phase four-wire. To simplify wiring, we added a switch compartment on the side of the Dry Type Isolation Transformer enclosure. Inside it sits one three-phase MCCB and one four-pole MCCB - input and output breakers, each in its own spot. As an Isolation Transformer manufacture based at our GUANGBIAN factory in China, small design details like this are what make a 50KVA Dry Type Isolation Transformer with MCCB practical to install on site.

Wiring Done at the Factory, Not on Site

The three-phase MCCB is wired to the 415V input side of the 50KVA Transformer. On site, the customer just runs three cables from the grid or switchgear into the breaker's input terminals, switches it on, and the Isolation Transformer is live. No extra components, no complicated wiring - that's the idea behind building the switch compartment into the Dry Type Isolation Transformer in the first place. At our GUANGBIAN factory in China, we try to think about installation from the customer's side, not just the manufacture specs.

The 415V feeds through the copper windings inside our Isolation Transformer and comes out at 220V. From there, we've already run the three-phase four-wire cabling over to the four-pole MCCB - so the customer just connects their equipment to the output side of the breaker and they're done. The wiring between the 50KVA Transformer and the breakers is done at our GUANGBIAN factory in China before shipping. As a manufacture, we'd rather handle that part ourselves than leave it to the customer to sort out on a live Dry Type Isolation Transformer.

Five-Position Tap Changer - Works When the Grid Is Messy

One more thing - this Dry Type Isolation Transformer also comes with a five-position tap changer. If the local voltage fluctuates a bit, the customer can switch it off, pick the matching tap from 380V, 400V, 415V, 430V, or 450V, and switch it back on. The output stays at 220V and connected equipment stays protected. It's a small feature on a 50KVA Dry Type Isolation Transformer with MCCB, but in places where the grid isn't perfectly stable, it saves a lot of headaches. That's the sort of practical detail we build into every Isolation Transformer at the GUANGBIAN factory in China - as a manufacture, we'd rather over-engineer for real-world conditions than ship a unit that only works on paper.

A Voltmeter and Lockable Casters on the Same Unit

We also mounted a voltmeter on the face of the low-voltage compartment on the stainless steel enclosure, so the customer can see the real-time voltage at a glance. And we fitted lockable swivel casters at the base - makes it much easier to move the 50KVA Transformer between locations if needed.

Quality Control - Tested Against IEC Standards Before Shipping

Before any 50KVA Dry Type Isolation Transformer with MCCB leaves the GUANGBIAN factory, we run it through our integrated transformer test bench. It checks winding resistance, turns ratio, insulation resistance, no-load losses, and voltage regulation all in one go. We follow IEC testing standards for every unit we ship, not just spot-check a few. If a unit doesn't pass, it doesn't leave the factory. That's how we keep the Dry Type Isolation Transformer line consistent.

Most of our 50KVA Dry Type Isolation Transformer with MCCB orders ship by sea freight - that's the cheapest and what most customers go with. If you need it faster, we can do rail or air freight. Just tell us your timeline and we'll work it out.

FAQs

Q: Can the tap changer be adjusted while the transformer is running?

No. The tap changer must be adjusted only after the unit is fully powered off. It's a de-energized tap changer, not an on-load one. This is standard for this type of 50KVA Dry Type Isolation Transformer with MCCB.

Q: Do I still need an external distribution box?

Usually not. The built-in Chint MCCBs already handle overcurrent and short-circuit protection on both input and output. Unless your local regulations require additional protection, this Dry Type Transformer is ready to connect directly.

Q: What's the lead time for a customized 50KVA Transformer with MCCB?

Standard units leave the factory in 10–15 working days. The ones with custom setups like MCCB and tap changers take a few days more. Send us your specs and we'll give you a real date, not a range.

Q: Is this transformer suitable for outdoor installation?

IP23 is fine for indoor and covered outdoor spots. If the transformer is going to sit out in the open - heavy rain, sandstorms, that kind of thing - we'd need to bump up the enclosure rating. Let us know where it's going and we'll spec it right.

Q: What certifications does GUANGBIAN hold?

We build to IEC standards, and every 50KVA Dry Type Isolation Transformer with MCCB comes with a test report. If you need a third-party inspector to come in, we'll set that up - no problem.

Why Our Customers Keep Ordering It This Way

Over the past couple of years, this customization has become one of the more popular setups among GUANGBIAN's customers. Putting MCCBs directly on the Dry Type Isolation Transformer does two things: it cuts down on wiring work, and the breakers protect the Isolation Transformer itself. The customer doesn't need to buy a separate distribution box just for protection. Two birds, one stone - that's basically how they describe it.
